Thursday - Alec helping me make a pizza. :)

Alec had a busy day with Grandpa today. They headed down to Hot Springs to run some errands. They stopped by my sister's work and Alec got to ride in the airport's fire truck, see an airplane, and a helicopter. They also visited my mom at work and she got to show him off at the office. :) He was tired that night but he had a great visit and lots of fun with Grandpa. He'll get in his toy car and say "Bye, Bye Mommy, going to Grandpa's!"

Wednesday - My Dad came down to spend some time with Alec today. They had a fun afternoon and we went outside a little after dinner.

Tuesday - Alec woke up in the middle of night with a mild fever and couldn't sleep. So, we all came downstairs and he passed out with us. Eric wasn't feeling too good either and I snapped the top picture while I was getting ready for work.

By the evening, Alec was doing good and enjoyed a Popsicle in the backyard.

Monday - Forgot to take a picture. I had a long, busy day. I did snap this before I headed to bed. Good night!

July 24, 2011

Sunday - We spent most of the day at home. This week is going to be a busy one for me at work, so I tried to get things cleaned and ready today. These pictures are of Alec playing with his trains, we did eventually have to take them away so he would eat. He loves trains and makes the choo choo sound and acts like he's blowing the train's horn at the same time.

Saturday - We packed it all in today! After a laid back morning around the house we headed to the River Market for lunch and to pick up some things at the Farmer's Market. We ended up missing out on most of the Farmer's market because we were late. I think it's too hot to stay much after noon this time of year. We did manage to get a cantaloupe and some kettle popcorn.

Later, I went to work for a couple of hours while Alec took a nap. Then that evening we "helped" Eric with his arcade project. I did help move it back over to our house - it wasn't that heavy, so as long as it fits through our doors then we shouldn't have a problem getting it up the stairs. It was a long day but fun day! :)

Friday - TGIF! We had dinner at the new Chick-fila in town, made a quick trip to Target, and then Shake's for ice cream (we eat a lot of ice cream!).
What a difference a year makes! These pictures are a year apart and Alec is completely different. He's such a boy now. Happy Weekend!

July 21, 2011

Thursday - Alec had a little accident at school today. All is well, just a little cut above his eye. I'm ready for a lazy weekend at home, let's hope it happens!

Wednesday - Alec and his ice cream cone! This just screams summer to me - I love this time of year! :)

July 19, 2011

He looks so grown up here!

Tuesday - Rough day for me and was one of the harder days as a mom for me. Alec screamed and cried when I left him at school and the teachers had to basically pull him from my arms.  Work was crazy and I didn't accomplish what I needed to do. That night, Alec was cranky and very clingy. I put him to bed around 9 p.m. and he cried for at least 45 minutes. I was by myself and had enough so I went to his room to see if I could calm him down. He calmed down for the few minutes I was there and then wailed even more when I left again. Finally, around 10:30 he passed out from exhaustion.  Glad this one's over!

Monday - I kept Alec at home today to give him an extra day to recover from his stomach virus. He hadn't eat anything all weekend and was looking pretty pitiful. He started eating more today and was acting better. He even took a 3.5 hour nap. I worked on some projects around the house and tried to take a break.

Alec and I went to  Toys R Us to find him a Mater truck, the boy is obsessed! We ended up leaving with a race track (this may have been my idea!) and I put this together and even played with it while he was asleep. At this point, I love his toys as much as he does. :)

Alec didn't really eat at dinner, but I guess his appetite returned because as we were heading off to bed, he started asking for food. I think by the time it was all over he had ate a yogurt cup, cantaloupe, a banana, 4 fish sticks, and drank a full cup of milk. I felt like I was feeding the very hungry caterpillar - ha! :)

Alec "helping" with a part of the arcade project.

Sunday - We mostly stayed around the house being lazy and getting ready for the week. Alec's fever finally broke but he ended up with a pretty mild stomach virus for the rest of weekend.

We watched our first "family" movie together today. Alec loves the Cars characters (I think this came from his cousins) and has talks about "Mater" all the time. So, this weekend we bought the movie and watched it on DVD. It was a good one and Alec actually sat through about half of it. I'm sure we'll be watching it again and many more times. :)

Saturday - My day started at 5:40 a.m. I fulfilled one of my Junior League requirements by volunteering for the Miracle Chasers Triathlon at UALR. I helped with the swim part of the race. The event was for ages 6-15 both boys and girls. Overall, about 80 kids participated. This was the first year for the race and it was a success. Hot Dog Mike even showed up for the race! :)

The rest of the day was spent visiting with my mom and taking care of Alec. He started running a fever around bedtime and was pretty whiny and clingy all day. Poor little guy.

Friday - TGIF!! Alec had a rough night and we ended up sleeping in the guest bedroom from about 3 -7 a.m. I normally would have been pretty cranky, but it was so sweet to watch my little guy sleep next to me. I swear he looked like a little angel and funny thing was just about the time I needed to get up the little guy passed out hard.  I guess it was worth being a little tired the next day. :)

We ended the week with dinner at one of our regular places, Izzy's. Yay! for the weekend.

July 14, 2011

Thursday - Happy Bastille Day and Happy Birthday to my Dad!

These pics are of Alec before bed, he was kind of fussy tonight. I think our first full week back is catching up with all of us. Looking forward to the weekend! Friday here we come! :)

On another note, today I had to step outside my comfort zone with Alec's teacher at school. He moved into a new class in June and I had noticed that she called him Alex and not Alec. Some of his art work had even the incorrect spelling. I realize this is an honest mistake and when we were choosing Alec's name I knew it would be a problem (not really a biggie). However, Alec is a little sponge and is learning new things everyday, so of course he started calling himself Alex. So, I knew at that point I was going to have to say something. I originally asked the toddler coordinator to try to fix the issue, but it didn't work out. So yesterday, I finally corrected her and explained the problem when I picked him up. Hopefully, it will get better and Alec won't be confused. To help, Eric and I have really started making sure we over pronouce the "C" and say his name more often. I think he's straightened out now. :)

July 13, 2011

Wednesday - I almost forgot to take a picture again! I had already put Alec to sleep so I snapped a pic of his recent artwork from daycare. I've got to come up with a neat way to display all his creations - maybe time for a craft project! :)

July 12, 2011

Tuesday - Splash time in the backyard. After dinner, we went outside to have some ice cream and play in the water.  Alec had so much fun with the water hose - he loved splashing himself in the face. :)

July 11, 2011

Monday - It's hot - 108 in the parking lot after work. I'm not complaining though, I'd take this any day over the cold. Although, I will be happy when fall comes, it's my favorite season.

Alec's been a little too insistent on watching DTE lately, so we decided it was time for a week long break. So, tonight we unwound from our day upstairs in the playroom. I popped popcorn and we all went upstairs for a before dinner snack and some playtime. We played with playdoh, read some books, and had some general silliness. It was nice to change things up a little.

Before bed, Alec and Eric "played" pac man on the soon to be arcade machine.

July 10, 2011

Sunday - We just spent the day around the house except for a short trip to the grocery store. Eric worked on his coin door for his arcade project and we watched Harry Potter (the first one, we are a little behind) while Alec took a nap. It was a good day! Here's to a great week ahead.

July 9, 2011

Saturday Morning - Alec and I headed out to the Farmer's Market in the River Market. This was our first trip of the summer. I've been wanting to go for a while but just haven't had the time. We got some tomatoes, cherries, yellow squash, and some huge sunflowers. I wanted some peaches but they still aren't ready. We only stayed around for about 30 minutes, it was already hot and Alec was getting restless. We finished the morning with a stop at Target and then lunch at home with Daddy.

July 8, 2011

Friday - Tonight, we had dinner at Razorback Pizza, made a quick trip to Hobby Lobby, and got ice cream from Shake's - great start to a weekend at home - finally!

July 7, 2011

Thursday - Thank goodness this is short week, I'm not sure I could have handled any longer. After dinner, we had ice cream and  played in the backyard with Alec's water sprinkler. He was soaking wet but had a lot of fun. I love the summer!
