Outside waiting to get our tickets scanned

Alec's first Hogs Basketball Game

Friday - The Hogs were in town tonight at Verizon. It happened to be Eric's Dad's birthday, so we got tickets for everyone. We had dinner at All Aboard and headed to the game. Alec spent most of the first half sitting in Poppy's lap watching the game. The Hogs ended up losing but it was an action packed game.

Thursday - I snapped this pic on the way to bed, that's all had in me today! Over the weekend, I packed away all my Halloween decorations and put out few harvest/fall things. I got this little sign at Hobby Lobby for 50% off, I love a good deal! :)

Wednesday - I took the top picture right after we got home. Alec climbed out of his car seat and climbed in the front seat and started playing with the steering wheel and pushing buttons.

After Alec went to sleep, Eric and I had a at-home date night. Most of our weeknights are spent zoned out on the couch after the work, dinner, bath, and get Alec to bed routine. I wanted to mix it up a little and start a date night at home. Each week, we'll alternate who plans the date. I made the plans for this week. Tonight, we ordered pizza, I made spinach dip and s'mores cookies and we played Wipeout on the Xbox. It was so much fun we were laughing the entire time. It was actually a good workout and my back muscles were sore the next day from all the jumping around. We only had about a 2 hour "date" but it was nice to do something different on a work night.

Tuesday - Busy day, I ran after work and picked Alec up late from school. I'm still not used to it being dark at 5:30. This pic is from dinner.

Monday - I made a Target run after dinner and Alec went to bed. This is the only picture I got today. Target has the best ice cream topping - Chocolate Sea Salt Caramel. It is so good with vanilla ice cream, peanuts, and cool whip. Yes, we eat dessert every day! :)

Alec's turkey after I added some embellishments.

Sunday - Alec brought home a turkey to decorate for school. We were supposed disguise the turkey so he wouldn't get eaten on Thanksgiving. Alec colored the turkey with his markers and I added some feathers, a googly eye, and a pilgrim's hat with my glue gun. He looked pretty festive. He's now hanging on the wall at Alec's school.

Saturday - This isn't the greatest picture but we had to document Alec's first movie at the theater. Since Alec got all his stars this week his reward was to go watch Puss in Boots. We went in thinking we'll just stay as long as he's good and if starts acting up we can leave. Well Alec did great! He got his own little popcorn and drink and sat in my lap the entire time. He was so good and quiet. He keeps asking to watch the "Cat" movie again. He even got a toy from the movie in his Happy Meal earlier this week. Now he's inseparable from his "cat." :)

Friday - Happy Veteran's Day. I was off work today for the holiday but I worked 6 hours at Holiday House. My shift was in the Merchant Lounge. We prepared meals, snacks, and drinks for the merchants. It was hard work!

That night my sis came over for visit. We had dinner at Texas Roadhouse and came back to the house for a little silly fun! :)

Thursday - My dad came for a visit to babysit Alec on Friday. I was late getting home from work and the dinner I cooked in the crockpot didn't work out so we headed to Corky's for a dinner. Eric took this pic and I stole it from him - it's only funny to those who know the story! :)

November 9, 2011

I was too fast and I couldn't get a pic of him wearing his pirate eye patch.

Alec and Daddy having dinner at McDonald's

Wednesday - Tonight I went to the Holiday House preview party. I shopped till I dropped! I didn't get home until almost 10 and was pretty tired. Eric and Alec had a boy's adventure and went to McDonald's for dinner.

Tuesday - Some pics from dinner tonight.

November 7, 2011

Monday - We've had a terrible case of the terrible 2's lately, mostly on work/school mornings during the week. Alec doesn't want to get dressed or brush his teeth - he screams and fights us the entire time. He's also started biting again at school, which is serious and upsetting to me. It's hard to discipline Alec when he does something at school because we aren't there when it happens. So, we decided to try a reward chart to help with the problem. Alec gets a star on his chart every time he does one of his "chores" without throwing a fit and he gets a star for not biting, hitting, or kicking at school. If he gets all stars during the day he can watch Dora, Thomas, or Sesame Street when he gets home from school. If he gets 22 stars during the week, he gets a special surprise on the weekend.

So far, the chart seems to help, he gets really excited to get stars. It's not a given reward though, we've already had some days where he only got one star. As he gets better and masters the 4 "chores" we'll add some more to help with other problem areas. We'll see how it goes.

Sunday - Alec spent the night at Grandma's last night. So, Eric and I woke up early today went for our long run for 1/2 marathon training and then headed to Ya Ya's for brunch. We ate so much! I snapped this pic while were eating.

Saturday - We found Alec a fireman's suit on clearance in the Halloween costumes. He loves the hat and will just put on and run around the house. In these pics, he's standing on our bed looking in our dresser mirror at himself - I guess he found it funny. I think it's cute. :)

Eric's new favorite beer

Friday - We ended the week with dinner at Izzy's.

November 3, 2011

Thursday - Today started out crazy! As soon as I got to work, I got 2 calls that stressed me out! The first call was OPM (The Office of Personnel Management) telling me that I had an upcoming staffing audit. Audits make me nervous. The next call was from Alec's daycare saying he was out of diapers AND wipes. I had missed the note from Alec's teacher that it was time to restock. Normally, I'd just run to Target and get what's needed but today I had to be at a meeting in Sherwood by 9. So, Eric came to the rescue and made the Target run. He sent me the top picture of the diapers to make sure he got the right thing. Thank goodness the day got better and less stressful .

Later, that night Alec played with his jeep and the "boys." He got this toy for his birthday and he calls the two toy soldiers "boys." He said Trunks was a hill and kept rolling the jeep over him. Trunks just let him play. :)

Alec's car he painted on his birthday - he loves it and calls it his "race car"

Here's the schedule for CDC fall fun week
Wednesday - Not much going on this week - just random pics from my day.

Tuesday - Back to work and school. I was trying to get a picture of Alec's silly socks for Silly Sock day at school but that didn't happen.

October 31, 2011

Alec fell asleep during our 4 mile run

I dressed up as a witch and Alec was a Pirate!
Eric was Donald Trump! We found the wig at Walmart. To me, he looked more like a redneck business man.

Alec's candy stash from trick-or-treating

Halloween dinner - Mummy dogs!

Alec and Daddy watching the The Great Pumpkin (our favorite)
Monday - Happy Halloween! We stayed home from work and school to recoup from our weekend away. We started the day with a run and then lunch at Panera Bread. That evening, we got dressed in our costumes and went trick-or-treating on our street. Alec had so much fun and was so serious when trick-or-treating. He only wanted suckers and wanted to pick out his own candy.  After a few houses, he said he was ready to go home and we went home. He ate 3 suckers (he didn't finish any of them) and a hot dog. We had so much fun and Alec had a blast - it's amazing to see how different Alec is now compared to last year at Halloween.

Part of Eric's silly Halloween Costume :)

Sunday - We made it home from Fayetteville. We were happy to see our boy! It's nice to have a break but we just miss him so much! He had a great time with at Mammie and Poppy's house.

At home, Alec and I painted pumpkins for Halloween. I found this cute Elmo kit and used it on Alec's pumpkin from the pumpkin patch. Then I let Alec paint it with washable fingerpaint. He loved it but ended up painting more of Elmo than the pumpkin! :)

Saturday - The big day - congrats to the Newlyweds! I had some time to kill waiting around for the wedding to begin, so I took some pictures of the decorations and around campus. The weather was great and made for a beautiful wedding. Plus, the Razorbacks pulled out a win, so that made for a great weekend.
